The varsity golf team, led by Anshika Singh (’18), finished in fourth place at this year’s ISSTs. Singh, who has been on the team since her freshman year, finished in second place with 99 points.
Although the team was looking to improve on their second place finish from last year, the team is proud of how they did. Jack Clark (’20), who went with the team to ISSTs last year, said the team “went way farther than any of us had thought we would at the beginning of the year.”
“This team started kind of rusty but we have worked hard this year,” he said. Patrick Fennelly (’21) believes a huge key to their success this year at ISSTs was that everyone tried their best. “It’s about how well each player on the team plays more than individual performances,” he said.
This year’s team is younger than teams in the past as it has only one senior, Singh. Fennelly believes that Singh has been a great leader on this team and he has learnt a lot from her over the course of the year.
The rest of the team ended the day with Fennelly scoring 86 points, Jack Clark (’20) scoring 81 points, Dylan Evans (’19) scoring 65 points, Alexander Clare (’20) scoring 55 points and Jack Severino (’19) scoring 44 points.
